CODY

Hi Mary,Cody has been with us now for just over a year!  For the first few days cody was very aware of his new surroundings, being deaf he was very vigilant about his own safety, the smallest movement would make him jump and run in panic, keeping his eyes closed was a battle as he felt insecure and vulnerable!  with time, including a set pattern of regular routine, hand signals interaction with Roxy our German Shepherd, who was the most helpful of all to Cody, simply because of animal social skills, when she becomes alert, he does, when she performs an excercise  also gets rewarded for it he learnt to mirror her! Cody and Roxy are a perfect match together!
Cody enjoys training and is doing remarkably well in our training classes! he loves every human he meets, and is very tolerant around most dogs when they don't get to intense around him,
Like every dog Cody walks miles daily, The highlight of this year was to achieve climbing to the top of PenY fan in Brecon and sharing the experience with both Cody and Roxy!! I can tell by the grin on his face he also enjoyed the experience! Cody being deaf, dosen't hold him back he lives life to the full, he is la very affectionate dog, and a pleasure to share our lives with, our only regret is that he didn't come into our lives before, we can't imagine life without Cody, we are really lucky to have such a wonderful dog!!!

Love Pam x

MAISY

Hi, I was flicking through the "success story's" page and thought I'd email to let you know know how Maisy (lab cross) is.
Maisy is such a loving and friendly dog! She is well behaved and loves to play! She loves going for long walks and loves to have a sniff about. She follows me around non stop! She loves a good cuddle as you can see in the picture of me and her. Today (Monday) was the first time we let her off the lead and every time we called her she would come straight back! She especially enjoys chasing the ducks down the lake.
She is very friendly towards other dogs and sometime next week she will be meeting Jessie (a relatives dog!)  Hopefully they will get on!
Thank you for helping us get the stunning dog!

Just a big thank you from John and I to all of your staff.
Nikki is fantastic! Such a character. She travelled so well down to Dorset!
A ver

y happy dog!

ALFIE

Hi Mary

We picked Alfie up last Friday. He is a big strong bundle of fun but
such a softie. We love him to bits! He's settled in well with our family
and he's melted everybody's hearts. My two girls age 10 and 8 love him
and cuddle him all the time which he enjoys and he had two sets of
Grandparents who are spoiling him rotten with bones and doggy treats.

We take him out for long walks twice a day and I take him running with
me.

Thank you so much to all the staff at Llys Nini who helped and advised
us. We've certainly made the perfect choice with Alfie.

DARCEY

Hello there,

I'd just thought I'd email you to update you on Darcey (Poppy) - Labrador Cross Springer spaniel.

We adopted her in September and have had nothing but fun since.
She's a beautiful adoring dog who never fails to please. She's livened up our family and made our home whole again.
She always manages to put a smile on our faces.
Darcey is a real lively character, and her obedience makes her a joy to walk and exercise, she's fantastic wherever we take her.
It's true to say that Darcey is a gem, and we can't imagine our lives without her here with us.

ELLIE

Hello

We just wanted to give you a quick update on Ellie who came into you with her friend Mia.  I have been attending dog  classes with her and today Ellie passed her bronze level of the Good Dog Manners Scheme, plus she got a rosette as she had the highest score in the class, I am so pleased with her at seven years old I think its fab.  We are going on to try for the Silver level next.  It just goes to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks Emoji.

Kind regards
Angela & Ellie
Hello

Just wanted to let you all know that Ellie has settled in and she is a really good girl.  She is a real joy and fun to have around.  We have taken her to Pembrey a few times and on Thursday we let her off the lead on the beach, she was great really enjoyed being free and having a good run after her ball.  When she is at home she spends most of her time playing with her toys in the garden or chasing the birds!!  We are taking her camping next week end, we have got plenty of walks planned to take her on.
Thank you for letting us have such a great fun loving dog.  Here are some pictures of her.

Kind Regards
Angela, Jason and Ellie

BEAUTY

Hi all
Just to let you know that Beauty is settling in well.
It is 8.20am and she has had a 3 mile run with Max, and the wife (!) a big breakfast, and a huge play race around the fields with Max chasing a tennis ball.
She has made the old church pew in the front porch her daytime resting place as she can overlook the yard.

She slept the night on my son’s bed!

All the best
Chris

SAM

1) Llansteffan Bay, Carmarthenshire
2)  My 8 year old son and Sam
3)  Henryhd Waterfalls, Aberdulais
4)  Lamswell Bay, Gower

These are just some of the beautiful locations that we have taken our Sam.  He is an absolute pleasure, well behaved, walks to heel,  without a lead, re-calls to a whistle, fabulous with my 8 year old and friends, now very good with other dogs after not being used to them, one of my cats now ''associate'' in the same room with Sam, and sleeps quite comfortably in the same room, albeit they will never be 'bed buddies'. That day I thought I would never see.
We were going to take Sam to training classes, but he has listened to our words & actions so much & just wants to please...he is an absolute pleasure, my 8 year old is so confident with him, as we are with them both....we leave him walk Sam the walk home from school, he takes him round the block & Sam is just the well behaved good dog he is.
We didnt take this decision lightly, my partner has had dogs previously...I had not, I had cats for 18+ years. I have 2 cats, a massive fair goldfish who is ancient & a snake.
I was wary about a dog...my Mum who lives by me told me ''Dont expect us to look after it, big responsibility''
Oh yes, Sam has totally won Mum & Dad over, cant go up there without receiving treats.....he is an absolute pleasure to all he meets....we have been so lucky :)
This is one happy Llys Nini Story

PATCH

Hi Mary, Patch is doing very well. He settled in as soon as i got him home and has bonded with me instantly. He has met a few people and it has gone very well, He accepts me as pack leader and is happy for me to deal with everything. Feeding has proved to be a bit tricky but after a couple of days i have worked out what he is happy with and he has a mix of burns, skinners & naturediet chicken(which he loves). I am feeding him once a day which seems to be going well. 2 walks a day and ball chasing in the garden in the evening. You would be amazed at how happy and relaxed he is, When he did start to growl at a stupid man who was staring at him i just said NO and he instantly stopped. He curls up with me and lays all four paws on me and goes to sleep after his main walk which is about 1.5 hours.
I can touch him all over without any problem, rub him down, it is as though he has been with me for years. He has been off the lead at times since Friday with perfect recall. I have left him for 4 hours on thursday to go shopping and when i got home he had been asleep upstairs on  the computer chair and as soon as i called him he flew down the stairs and leapt all over me.
Still more work to be done, but so far excellent would be an understatement.
I have added 4 pics for you to see.
Best wishes Alan.

FLYN

I thought I'd better let you all know how Flynn is settling in to his new life

After reading everything we could on Rottweilers pre Flynn's arrival, we were very aware that he might be dominant, and need some strict rules, and had issues with food...

He came home, had a good look around his new house, checked out the garden ( didn't go upstairs - seems he did not understand them) and then collapsed on the floor so we could play with him... SUBMIT, seems to be his middle name!!

The beach was a whole new experience - he was confused by the sand - and very wary of the sea

He is excellent on the lead, and we took him to the woods on the 2nd day, and let him off the lead in the stream - he had obviously not seen water before, and he was so funny and sweet - and confused - but enjoyed him self so much

By night 3, he slept through the night ( I think he was worn out), the neighbours, the dog walker - and his 4 grandchildren, the neighbours kids, all think he is marvellous - I think he has been a bit overwhelmed by all the attention, but has welcomed the stroking - and as is his trait - collapsed on his back at every opportunity ( obviously we are very close by)

The first couple of days, he did knock his food bowl out of my hands a couple of times, as  he wanted his food - but that has stopped now. Although he has worked out where the treat cupboard is, and does sit looking "thin" sometimes!!

So, overall, I think he is very happy - he has obviously had a lot of new experiences - I suspect his previous life must have been very dull and restricted. He is still quite clingy, but it's only been a week - and it has been an absolute pleasure having him as part of our family - he's certainly got a great character!

I hope Floyd has gone to his new home also..

Best Wishes

Amanda

SMUDGE

 Hi Mary

It was lovely to hear from you
and thank you so much for your kind words.  We're just
so thrilled with Smudge and how he has settled in so
quickly.  He's getting lots of walks round the country
lanes where we live and we've taken him to the beach at
Broad Haven, so we're all getting fit!  We took him to
see the eye specialist on the 19th and we're pleased to
say that his eyes are improving and no mention of surgery at
present.  He's very good with all his eye drops and
enjoys his treats. I think we would love to come to the fun
 dog show .
  Attaching a
couple of photos so you can see our handsome boy.  Please
feel free to share them and we will keep in touch.
  Very best wishes
  Carole and Michael Lister

KHAN

Hi Mary

Thank you for your email. That would be a great day out & we would love to bring Khan up to see you all.
He has got rid of his nervousness with his head. We have kept him on Seraquin & had a check up   on Friday, all is fine with him. He loves a game of football as you can see in the attached pictures. He has also made a new friend in the horse also attached. He is such a loving dog and lets us know when he wants anything! I would love you to add him to your success stories.

Thank you for the perfect dog

MYFANWY

Hello! My name is Myfanwy. I was adopted from Llys Nini at the beginning of April, and thought I’d let you all know how I was getting on.
When I first came to my new home, I was a little bit overwhelmed by all the new surroundings, and missing my best friend Ruby, who had been adopted a day earlier by another family.

I’m not sure about this….

Cuddles! My favourite thing!
But the people in this new house seemed nice, and gave me lots of cuddles, treats and fusses.  I could tell they really loved me, and it made me feel better.

I went to the beach, and had a great time! I rolled around in the sand and ran around with a new friend.  He was a Borzoi, and much bigger than me, but I tried my best to keep up!

I had a haircut, and everyone said how beautiful I was…
I explored my big new garden….

I started to learn to walk on a harness (which I still haven’t quite got the hang of..) but we go to exciting places and meet lots of other dog friends every day!

..
I spoiled with lots of toys! First of all I didn’t know what to do with them, but when I heard them squeak I just couldn’t resist

This one is my absolute favourite! My squeaky burger!

Don’t mess with my burger!
Sometimes there’s so much to do, I wear myself out. But that’s ok, because there’s lots of snuggly blankets and baskets to curl up in…

I’m really happy here with my new family, and I’m looking forward to all the exciting adventures we have together in the future.

Feeling Snoozy.

DAISY

Daisy has been with us for 4 months now and it feels like she has always been with us. She is very responsive and quick to learn. Toilet training in two weeks and off lead walking in just one. She is gaining in confidence every day and has favourite friends who she loves to play with down the estuary. Her two best places in the world are the estuary and her bean bag where she is at her happiest.  We are currently working on  playing with toys although at the moment she looks at them with disdain as pointless and slightly frightening. She had her first hair cut a couple of months ago ( a very short puppy cut!) and her fur has grown through beautifully and glossy. She is inquisitive and loves to be involved in everything we do, and travels regularly on buses and trains with us. She is an absolute hunny, and are so grateful to the Llys Nini staff who took such good care of her.
